Mother’s Day in the UK this year falls on Sunday 11th March 2018. It is always the third Sunday in Lent, halfway between Ash Wednesday and Easter. Traditionally, people are allowed a break from their Lenten observances (e.g. giving up chocolate) on Mother’s Day. It is also the perfect opportunity to treat your mum and let her know how special she is to you.
Pieces of jewellery of all types are popular Mother’s Day gifts. We have a beautiful range of pendants, lockets and rings to suit every taste, and it isn’t too late to order a bespoke piece or customise jewellery and have it in time for Mother’s Day.
If you’re stuck for ideas, take a look through our collection of four photo lockets: popular designs for every budget that can easily be augmented with a personal engraving. While most lockets only contain two photographs, our oval design includes an additional inner chamber for you to mount two more pictures. These lockets are perfect for holding photos of the whole family, allowing your mum to carry her dearest ones close to her heart at all times. Heart shaped lockets and plain, unornamented oval lockets are also available, in silver or 9 carat yellow gold.
Each locket is hand engraved with traditional ornamentation on front and back and polished to a high finish. The lockets come with an oval belcher chain, available in 16 inch to 24 inch lengths.
The whole process is carried out by hand at our Birmingham workshop using traditional tools and techniques. Each locket comes in an attractive gift box in black leatherette.

Not From The UK?
If you’re not from the UK, or if your mother is of a different nationality, be aware that Mothering Sunday falls on a different date in Britain than in other countries. In the United States, for instance, Mother’s Day will fall on 13th May 2018, in Egypt and most Arab countries on 21st March, in Russia and Belarus on 14th October, Czech Republic on 8th March, and in Belgium and France on 15th August.
